Last week, precious metals followed volatile week. Although precious metals started the week with a rise, they could not close the week with gains. Due to the October 29 Republic Day holiday in Borsa Istanbul, the trading volume remained low.
The rise of gold did not take long at Borsa Istanbul. Gold reached its highest level at 1810 usd/oz level. However, yellow metal couldn’t escape the sales wave and rolled down until 1787 usd/oz level. Compared to last week, gold has lost 0.95% of its value. Totally 5 MT gold changed hands at Borsa Istanbul. After Borsa session closed, gold continued to depreciate and fell to 1783 usd/oz at international markets.
Silver followed a downward trend throughout the week. White metal recorded its highest level at 24,60 usd/oz level at Borsa Istanbul. The closing was 23,72 usd/oz level. This means that white metal has lost 2,3% of its value. Silver trading volume was also low at 11 MT at Borsa Istanbul.
