PRECIOUS METALS LOST BLOOD AT BORSA ISTANBUL

Precious metals followed negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. Peace talks between Russia and Ukraine also relieved the markets. However, with Russia's announcement that it will sell natural gas in rubles, investors began to stay away from risky investments. Despite this, precious metals left behind a week in which they lost value.

Gold had a tough week. Gold reached its highest level at 1954,50 usd/oz level at Borsa Istanbul. However, yellow metal could not hold at this level and went down to 1890 usd/oz level. The closing was 1920,55 usd/oz level. This means that gold lost 1,77% of its value. Trading volume was 5 MT at Borsa Istanbul. It was an average trading volume for gold. After Borsa session closed, gold tried to rise and recorded the level of 1925,18 usd/oz at international markets.

Silver didn't have a very different week than gold either. Silver recorded its highest level at 24,72 usd/oz level at Borsa Istanbul. White metal completed the week at 24,65 usd/oz level. Compared to previous week, silver lost 2,57% value. Totally 11,2 MT silver changed hands at Borsa Istanbul. 

Borsa İstanbul started its Monday morning session calmly. Last week, premium sales were replaced by discounted sales. Premiums are back this week as Buyers accepting to pay more than 1.5 usd/oz.
