PRECIOUS METALS HAD A DYNAMIC WEEK AT BORSA ISTANBUL

Last week, precious metals had a dynamic week. Rising of US Consumer Price Index and Russia-Ukraine crisis were followed carefully. Gold and silver were positively affected by these developments. 

Gold had a profitable week. Gold recorded its highest level at 1842 usd/oz level at Borsa Istanbul. The closing was 1831 usd/oz level. Compared to previous week, yellow metal gained 0,9% value. Totally 3,8 MT gold changed hands at Borsa Istanbul. After Borsa session closed, investors wanted to turn their attention to safe-haven gold, and gold rose to 1858 usd/oz at international markets.

Silver reached its highest level at 23,20 usd/oz level at Borsa Istanbul. However, silver couldn’t hold on this level and completed the week at 22,87 usd/oz level. Trading volume was quite high with 21 MT at Borsa Istanbul. After Borsa session closed, there was also a lot of interest in silver. For this reason, silver went up to 23,56 usd/oz at international markets.

High premium transactions continue at the Borsa Istanbul. Last week, the premiums were in the range of 5-6 usd/oz. It looks like it will be the same this week.
