Last week, precious metals followed the FED meeting. As expected, the FED did not change its rate hike decision and highlighted the rise in inflation. These developments negatively affected precious metals. Investors also had a week of losses at Borsa Istanbul.
Gold followed a rising trend until the middle of the week. However, it ended the week with a loss. Gold moved around 1839 usd/oz level at Borsa Istanbul. The closing was 1779 usd/oz level. That means yellow metal lost 5,79% value. It was a pretty big loss. Totally 5,9 MT gold changed hands at Borsa Istanbul. After Borsa session closed, gold couldn’t escape the sales wave and came to 1764 usd/oz level at international markets.
Silver’s move was parallel with gold. Silver recorded its highest level at 27,93 usd/oz level at Borsa Istanbul. White metal completed the week with 26,68 usd/oz level. Compared to last week, silver lost 5,46% value. Silver transaction volume was 18 MT at Borsa Istanbul.
