GOLD USED THE TENSION BETWEEN RUSSIA  AND UKRAINE

Precious metals and especially Gold last week played its role as being safe heaven once again. Gold started to the week at around 1810 usd/oz level. On Wednesday gold investors turned to Gold. While political tension between Ukraine and Russia continues, Biden announced that Russia will enter into Ukraine. This news affected precious metals positively. Gold jumped and reached 1842 usd/oz at Borsa Istanbul. Closing was realized at 1839 usd/oz together with %0,76 gain. Total transaction volume was quite good as almost 4.5 MT.

Silver market players were so active at Borsa Istanbul. Price reached 24 usd/oz and beside USD transactions mostly TRY based trading was realized. After busy week, more than 15 MT silver changed hands. 

After recent radical premiums at Istanbul market, Borsa started to the week with tightened premiums. Besides heavy weather conditions may cause physical supply problems and premiums may rise again.
