Precious metals had a volatile week due to the coronavirus mutant called omicron.  Investors acted with concern as omicron cases increased. Therefore, precious metals had a week in which they were caught in a selling wave. 

Gold continued to hold above 1800 usd/oz at Borsa Istanbul. Gold recorded its highest level at 1814 usd/oz level and completed the week with 1808 usd/oz level. This means that gold lost 0,10% of its value. Yellow metal trading volume was 9 MT at Borsa Istanbul. After 2 months, it was a very high transaction volume. The closing of the week at international markets was almost at the same level as Borsa Istanbul.

Silver had a profitable week, unlike gold. White metal reached its highest level at 22,90 usd/oz level at Borsa Istanbul. The closing was almost on par with the highest level. Compared to last week, silver gained 0,88% value. Totally 12 MT silver changed hands at Borsa Istanbul.
