PRECIOUS METALS HAD A BUSY WEEK
MARCH 21 – MARCH 28 / 2022 https://www.goldtakas.com/en

Last week, precious metals continued to follow the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war. Increasing oil prices, employment data announced in the USA and NATO meeting were among the developments followed.

Gold continued to be traded below 2000 usd/oz level at Borsa Istanbul. Gold recorded its highest level at 1965,50 usd/oz level. Despite this, yellow metal couldn’t hold on this level and completed the week at 1955 usd/oz level. Compared to previous week, gold gained 0,87% value. Although this was a small gain, it was important to investors. Gold transaction volume was 5,4 MT at Borsa Istanbul. After Borsa session closed, gold tried to rise and reached the level of 1958,20 usd/oz at international markets.

Silver's move was in a narrow band, unlike gold. Silver reached its highest level at 25,38 usd/oz level at Borsa Istanbul. The closing was almost on par with the highest level.  This means that white metal gained 1,17% of its value. Totally 20,2 MT silver changed hands at Borsa Istanbul. Thus, silver trading volume did not fall below 20 MT this week either.

Borsa Istanbul started the week calmly. Premiums continue as they did last week. However, at the beginning of this week, premiums dropped to 1 usd/oz.
