PRECIOUS METALS FELL AT BORSA ISTANBUL

Last week, political tension between Ukraine and Russia and the Fed meeting gave direction to precious metals. Investors turned to gold and silver due to political tensions.  However, precious metals fell after the Fed chairman's hawkish speech on interest rates.

Gold had a week trying to rise. Gold recorded its highest level at 1847 usd/oz level at Borsa Istanbul. The closing was 1801 usd/oz level. This means that yellow metal lost 2% of its value. Despite the depreciation, the yellow metal was able to hold at 1800 usd/oz level. Gold transaction volume was almost 8 MT at Borsa Istanbul. After Borsa session closed, Gold caught in the selling wave and declined to 1791 usd/oz level at international markets.

Silver had a harder week than gold. Silver reached its highest level at 23,61 usd/oz level at Borsa Istanbul. Silver finished the week at 23 usd/oz level. This level was also at the same level as the lowest level. Totally 2,5 MT silver changed hands at Borsa Istanbul.
